Release notes 8.5
What's new?
WiFi - Meraki support (Beta)
Highlight now supports Meraki wireless devices
WiFi - Relocate WAPs and controllers
Controllers no longer need to be in same location as WAPs
1. WiFi - Meraki support
WiFi support now available for Meraki devices in addition to Cisco, Aruba and Aerohive. Please contact us if you would like to use this new feature.
Find out more about creating a Meraki controller and the Details pages for WAPs and controllers.
2. WiFi - Relocate WAPs and controllers
Previously, all Wireless Access Points (WAPs) lived in the same location as the controller where they were discovered. You can now put an Aerohive or Meraki WAP into its actual location in Highlight, so it will affect the correct heat tile and alerts will contain more accurate location information. To move a WAP, simply drag it, in the Admin Browse page, onto the desired location in the Network Explorer tree, or use the clipboard.

Other changes
- For an improved workflow, the three date buttons to the right of strip charts have been removed (see image above). As before, clicking on a strip chart opens the Details page for the watch. The Details page for a WiFi controller now incorporates the Access Points usage information previously available on a pop-out.
- When a watch is reachable from only one of its pollers, Highlight now better handles the mix of good and bad samples. This will result in fewer false alerts.
- For a more logical and consistent workflow, the Details button has been removed. You can access the Details page by clicking on a line from a Report, or by clicking a heat tile then strip chart. Also a shortcut to "Last watch viewed" is available from the Home page.
- "Product type," an optional field (see images above), is now available to be included in an alert template.
- For clarity, the options below have been renamed. This change has been applied to the Edit Watch dialog, the Audit log and the Admin Watch Report:
- Polling is now Collect data
- Reporting is now Show data
- Alerting is now Send alerts
- Statistics is now Generate statistical reports
Bug fixes
- A service tile logo can now be replaced even if the service tile is active
- Host details page no longer errors if the capacity of a disk volume is not available
- Virtual Access devices no longer time out when tech tested
- Other devices now tech test even if non-critical information is missing
- Container service tiles are now hidden when a location is selected in the tree and 'Only selected folder' is checked in the service tile panel header dropdown
