RouteVis™
Overview
See clearly with RouteVis™
After initial setup, Performance Routing (PfR) seamlessly adjusts routes and keeps data flowing on your network with minimal input. But looking back, it can be difficult to see how well this has worked and whether it provided value for money.
RouteVis™ from Highlight reveals the inner working of PfR with the same view displayed for customers and service providers. With RouteVis™ you can see the routing events at your locations. Stats will tell the percentage of time spent within policy for each traffic class.

Routing events

- Only with issues
- Use to filter out traffic classes that were 100% within policy.

- Purple and magenta lines represent the two routes available for traffic at this location
Route change
- When a threshold crossing event (shown in amber) occurred, performance routing switched route
Threshold crossing
- The current route went out of policy
Immitigable
- A threshold crossing event occurred where neither route was able to resolve
-
- Click on the line or the zoom icon to see more detailed information including date, start time and duration for each event
RouteVis class detail
For the traffic class and time period selected, the overall percentage of time spent in policy and the out of policy duration are shown.
Within policy percentage and Out of policy duration

- 100%
- 100% will always be green and no duration will shown
- 99.7%
- an amber percentage indicates there was at least one threshold crossing event and the total duration spent out of policy is shown
- 96.8%
- a red percentage indicates there was at least one immitigable event, the total duration of time spent out of policy and the time spent unable to mitigate are shown
Table
Note: the table will be empty if the traffic class was within policy for 100% of the time period because there are no events to show.

- Event
- Possible options are:
Route change:
when a threshold crossing event (shown in amber) occurred, performance routing switched route
Threshold crossing:
the current route went out of policy
Immitigable:
a threshold crossing event occurred where neither route was able to resolve
- Date
- In the format dd Mmm yy
- Start
- Start time in UTC of the event
- Duration
- In minutes or hours and empty for route changes
- Details
- Information shown depends on the event type:
Route change:
shows which route the traffic changed to
Threshold crossing:
shows the reason, typically packet loss %
Immitigable:
no reason shown but will be the same as the preceding threshold crossing event
